Apple Cake
Batter: Sift flour, salt, and baking soda so that they are well-mixed. In separate bowl, briefly beat eggs. Add oil and sugar. Mix well. Add the flour mixture; mix well. Add apples, nuts and vanilla and mix well. Pour into greased and lightly floured bundt pan. Bake at 350° for about 40 minutes. Make glaze. When glaze is finished, turn out cake onto cake platter, and top with glaze (drizzle glaze over hot cake). Glaze: In small saucepan combine butter, sugar, and milk. Cook on medium high for 2 1/2 minutes. Stir (don't beat) for one minute after removing from heat. Add vanilla or rum flavor. Drizzle over warm cake.
